Your Roadmap to Discovering True Freedom in Your Business
Sweet Friend I see you....
You’re sitting behind your laptop staring blankly and thinking, “I have no idea what to write.”.
You’re laying out your next marketing plan thinking, “This doesn’t feel right. I don’t know what I’m doing.”.
You’re putting on another cartoon for your preschooler thinking, “Please Lord, let him be quiet for just 30 mins so I can get something accomplished today.”.
The freedom you’re seeking from your business feels far off and something you’ll only experience in your dreams.
You follow influencers online and you think, “How does she do it? She makes it look so easy”.
I promise you, the same woman you’re admiring, is also thinking, “How does SHE do it?”.
The truth is, there is no secret sauce, super power, or magic potion.
We do have something unique, beautiful, special, and powerful within.
The Spirit lives inside YOU. He’s ready to help you discover true freedom.
Discovering and living a life of freedom is no easy road to travel, trust me. It requires serious amounts of grit and grace. But Girl….the reward is BEAUTIFUL!
I’m going to give you a Freedom Roadmap! This roadmap will help you if you’re making zero dollars in your business or if you’re making $1 mil dollars in your business.
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” [John 14: 16-17]
Step 1: Acknowledge Your Chains
What is keeping you locked up and imprisoned in your life (or your head)? What frustrates you and makes you feel small and fearful of moving forward?
These chains can be the awful stories playing on repeat in your head. Maybe, it’s lack of support and understanding from your family and friends. These chains might be your fear of rejection, success, or letting others down.
Maybe, your chains are the worries of tomorrow. The uncertainty of fulfilling your dream and your purpose.
Whatever YOUR chains are you must acknowledge them and take those chains to God.
“Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” [Psalm 2:3]
Step 2: Change Your Story
Just because something has always been, doesn’t mean it will always be. What story are you telling yourself?
You have the power to change your story. Is your story based in truth? Is it in alignment with what God thinks about you?
Maybe your story is….
“I’m not smart enough to start my own business. I don’t have a clue how to start.”
“I’m great at launching businesses but once I hit a certain income level I find myself stuck.”
“I can’t sell anything. I’m terrible at sales!”
“I don’t have the skills to run a business. Technology is not my friend.”
“I can’t find good help! I’m making great money but everyone I bring on to help, never follows through.”
“Start a business? Charge money for my services? No way! People would never pay for this.”
Girl, you have the POWER to change your story. Seek guidance in God’s Word. Find a mentor or a coach to help you create a NEW story. Journal and write out affirmations every morning writing your new story.
“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” [Philippians 4: 7]
Step 3: Create Healthy Habits
Your daily habits have a bigger impact on your life than you could ever imagine. When you think about a day in your life what does it look like?
How are you connecting with God?
Are you getting enough sleep?
What are you putting into your body?
What are you reading?
Who are you spending most of your time with?
How are you moving your body?
Are you getting the self care you need?
Take time and really look at how you’re coping with the daily stress of being a Business Owner, Wife, Mom and Servant of God.
Pick an area where you can focus on creating ONE healthy habit over the next month. Notice I said ONE! Don’t try and overhaul your whole life or you’ll fail miserably. Baby steps girl!
Pray for self discipline and let God help you. One day at a time.
Step 4: Prioritize!
Contrary to what you’ve been telling yourself….you cannot be everything to everyone all of the time. If you want true lasting freedom in your life and business you have to prioritize.
What are the things taking up most of your time?
Business, kids, appointments, serving at church, friends, family, or chores?
Sister if you’re reading this I know you have a dream bubbling inside of you. Are you spending time on your dream? Or do you let everyone else dictate how you spend YOUR time?
I promise you….saying NO never made anyone bleed.
If an opportunity lands in front of you and it’s not 100% aligned with your overall dream, do yourself a favor and say no.
When you clear up your schedule and leave room for perfect opportunities they’ll come!
Take time today and evaluate your schedule and sit down with a friend or mentor and prioritize. Create a plan for making room on your schedule for the things that LIGHT YOU UP!
Step 5: HAVE FUN!
Yes! Girls just want to have fun! Even GIRLBOSSES! You have to enjoy the journey and find time to laugh. Because if you’re not having fun is it really freedom?
What about your business is FUN?
When is the last time you laughed so hard you cried?
Find 3 ways you can add more fun into your week. Maybe it’s watching a funny movie or laughing with your kids. Maybe it’s taking a fun gym class where you can dance and get some movement. Whatever IT is, just do it!
Now that you have your Freedom Roadmap how are you going to begin embarking on your journey? Share in comments how you’re going to get started.
